Top non-league goal “scorchers” picked by Buildbase football community

Forget Euro 2020 and Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal scoring tally – the real goal scoring action this year was in the Buildbase FA Vase and FA Trophy!

We asked spectators watching their favourite local teams to keep an eye out – and video camera on standby – to capture the best goals scored.

After picking out the top three “scorchers” from each competition, we asked the online footballing community to vote. And, the winners are:

Buildbase FA Trophy: City of Liverpool FC – Jack Hazlehurst’s amazing shot in the top corner against Buxton FC.

Buildbase FA Vase: Stowmarket Town FC – Bermudan star, Reggie Lambe’s brilliant strike against Norwich CBS.

Also, fans spotted highly commended goals during the season at Cheadle Town FC, Shildon AFC, Marske United FC, Hereford FC and Notts County FC.

Both players and their teams are ecstatic to win this year’s award and they thank everyone who voted for them.

Kitt Owen, Social Media Lead, Buildbase Group said: “We ran this competition to celebrate both Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase clubs and to show that you can experience high-quality football and enjoy watching incredible players and teams at a non-league level.

“Both goals that have won this year’s #BuildbaseGoalOfTheRound award would have made Harry Kane or Mohamed Salah proud if they’d scored them in the Premier League.

“For non-league sides and players, getting recognition from their local fans and an even-wider social media football community means a lot. We are proud to have highlighted the brilliant football happening locally all over the country every season.

“And despite it being a difficult season with – in some cases – only a handful of fans able to watch a match because of Covid-19 restrictions, the players and teams turned in some great performances.”
